ABOUT VICTORY HOMES OF MARYLAND

Victory Homes of Maryland is a consumer-driven housing rental company providing quality apartments and all-inclusive amenities (which differ from home to home) for neurodiverse adults with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including 24/7 in-house Concierge service, support needs, and 1-1 care. As the consumer, our residents choose how and with whom they wish to live in a welcoming, well-maintained home of their own. The ultimate goal is to live and engage each day in a happy, healthy, safe, and meaningful environment that recognizes endless potential in a community setting.

Victory Homes of Maryland is driven to become the backbone from which each individual who rents a home can flourish. Residents are immersed in a secure, safe, community-like environment where individuality is appreciated. A strong support system is a requirement in order to take full advantage of the Victory Homes lifestyle. By providing the tools necessary for each potential resident to fully engage in community life, we can assure that our residents have a plethora of amenities that are optional from which to choose.

We celebrate the diversity of our residents and observe them thrive as they partake in resident life. Parents, guardians, and residents will experience a warm and welcoming home together with a family-like atmosphere. People live as independently as they are comfortable making their own decisions and choices. Rest assured, our residents’ happiness and wellbeing, in conjunction with our homes’ safety and security, are paramount. We strive to meet the resident where they are and enrich their lives with positive encouragement.

We encourage families to enjoy the day to day lives of our residents by dropping by, volunteering, and becoming interested in all they do. We want you to feel at home and united in the mission of Victory Homes.

WELCOME HOME

Each Victory Home is designed to provide social inclusion with a warm, welcoming atmosphere where our residents can choose how to spend their day. Each home is set within the Maryland suburbs and are ideal locations within close proximity to public transportation, shopping, libraries, cafes, and restaurants.

Our most valuable asset of Victory Homes is our in-house Concierge staff. This amenity is a design feature adding an extra layer of eyes and ears. Concierge management knows each resident and also their support caregiver. They become a liaison between the residents team and the residents family members, where communication is our goal to to improve quality of life for the residents. Concierge is an extension of the Victory Homes of Maryland housing purposeful lifestyle.

director of concierge & concierge team

The role of Concierge is an innovative game changer! This is the very essence of why Victory Homes is a remarkable place for those who find the challenges of living with IDD/ASD comforting. Vulnerability, loneliness, and isolation can go hand in hand with the disability.

Each Concierge lives in-house, 24/7, and monitors our residents’ well-being by forming a partnership with each resident, their family, and their individual caregiver/support system. The Concierge will have information at their fingertips that include life skills, education, vocational and recreational choices, information, and referrals that can be shared as potential opportunities from which our residents may choose. Events, both within the home and in the community, the Concierge will encourage participation in subjects of personal interest.

The Concierge can locate temporary caregiver assistance when required or contact support during a crisis. Residents that choose specific activities such as gym memberships, educational or vocational activities will be required to pay for those specific activities independently. A personal preference sheet is offered to each resident to complete which will aid the Concierge in presenting pertinent information and choices. Whether a free concert, a vacation, seasonal festival, purchasing theatre tickets, or arranging an UBER ride to the doctor, dentist, barber, nail salon, etc., the Concierge can arrange it all!

The Director of Concierge oversees the entire team and is available to meet in person or via phone or video conference between the hours of 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday; and Saturday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.

bespoke lifestyle

As dedicated parents and guardians we wish to partner to develop a home-like, happy environment with which to thrive. It is important to set up your loved one for independence in the absence of parents and guardians. Therefore, we want you to know that the future of your son or daughter is a responsibility that we share and is important to us at Victory Homes. In your absence, we share the responsibility of continuing your wishes for your adult dependent.

It is paramount that you have a plan to continue the quality of life and guarantee that they have the ability to continue life without you with purpose, meaning, stability, and belonging. Each potential resident is required to acquiesce an appointed trustee, guardian, or point of contact. We request that you share the point of contact in the event of an emergency who is prepared for a situational awareness if it should arise, including temporary staffing.

emergency & caregiver substitute

Unforeseen emergencies are going to occur from time to time. It is vital for individuals with intellectual challenges to have a back-up plan. The ability to continue a routine regardless of the situation is imperative.

It is our mission to relieve stress from parents and families by calling upon our Director of Concierge Services, who will immediately contact temporary caregiver assistance services. These temporary caregivers are not employed by Victory Homes but are on the list of our temporary staffing services, all of which are certified and well-versed in Autism and IDD. They currently work in the field with individuals in private settings or through DDA’s self-direct.

The temporary caregiver’s fee is in addition to rent, either private pay paid directly to the temporary caregiver or paid through the residents' DDA budget. Victory Homes does not negotiate or set the hourly fee for this temporary care, however, we are able to call upon their assistance immediately. We are familiar with the temporary caregivers that we use and highly recommend them.

FAMILY & friends connection

We encourage families and friends to enjoy the day to day lives of our residents by dropping by, volunteering, and becoming interested in our residents' daily lives. Friday Night Family Night is a fun evening for our residents as they prepare dinner for fellow residents, families, and caregivers. We want you to feel at home and united in the mission of Victory Homes.

Families and friends of our residents are always welcome. We have created an open door policy atmosphere, whereby a strong sense of inclusion is a given and vibrant energy is palpable. It is extremely helpful for our residents not only to get out into their neighborhood but to become a member, with purpose, promoting the opportunity for continuous exposure to and with neuro-typical people, places, and environments.

Victory Homes of Maryland is devoted to become a facilitator of choice for all of our residents and to promote that freedom by providing a safe, warm and inviting home that will bring a plethora of community and in-house engagement.
